Our software in schools

Compu.Ed's software is used in schools throughout Australia They are a powerful multisensory reading intervention solution for raising academic achievement and empowering school districts, principals and teachers to strengthen and rejuvenate their reading curriculums to meet the needs of diverse student populations. It enables the teacher to take a different approach to critical learning objectives — and ignite a spark in children who are most in need — that builds confidence for years to come.

Clinical trials have shown that using our software 3-4 times a week can lead to increased attention span, improved listening skills and enhanced awareness of the sounds of language.  With these skills children become more successful and confident in reading, speaking and spelling and their overall academic achievement improves.

Children can develop the automaticity required for reading by using our software at home.  By playing the games students are having fun while doing the [usually boring] repetitive routines which are necessary to develop the skills that underlie the acquisition of reading.

Memory and Automatisation

Recent research indicates that the acquisition of basic skills of reading and spelling place high demands on the capacity of working memory of the unskilled reader. To accommodate these higher order cognitive processes within the available working memory span, fundamental decoding skills need to become automatic.

For most people memory and automaticity can be improved significantly by appropriate training.
